As usual the German Buggy Races start again after a long winter break on the easter weekend at SPO – St. Peter-Ording beach.
Luckily the weather played ball and for the two race days on saturday and sunday we had blue bird sky and wind… unfortunately easterly coming over the dunes making riding a buggy more look like a roller coaster ride. Kites collapsing from one to a sudden, buggies get pulled to the side for meters and all sorts…
Three races on saturday in both – open and master class with wind picking up to 25 knots. The Quantum performed well but we thought we give the Chrono a try as the gusty winds where much easier to handle with the enormous amount of depower. So it did. Two bullets for Malte in the Masters and two for Dom in the Open Class.
The wind picked up even more on sunday and two races where possible for the masters but only one for the open class as it got too dangerous with the wind picking up to over 30 knots in gusts. All races on sunday won by Malte and Dom once again taking them both to the top podium. One more race event to finish off the 2014 German Buggy Championship in June but it’s looking good for Malte to win once again.
