Influenced by our experience in paraglider, foil kite and wingsuit production, our Patented 100% double-surface design with ram air tech design creates an enclosed high pressure space between the entire upper and lower surfaces.
The internal rib structure supports both sail layers and helps the wing smoothly deal with dynamic pressure differentials when the wing’s angle-of-attack changes.

WHAT IS ULTRA-X?
Ultra-X is our umbrella term for any product that focuses on a specific discipline and produces performance levels above and beyond the ‘industry standard’.
Not limited to a single aspect of design or particular material, Ultra-X represents our commitment to peak performance. It’s about finding and applying the innovations that will help push the boundaries of a particular discipline or riding style — whether ultra-light, ultra-strong, ultra-stiff or ultra-responsive.
WHY ALUULA?
The new Aluula leading edge and strut airframe is both lighter and stiffer and has allowed us to reduce the leading edge diameter for even more performance, both in terms of riding angles and speed.

01 DOUBLE SURFACE AND RAM-AIR TECH
- RE-WORKED INTERNALS
We stripped the double surface design down to the performance essentials and took inspiration from the internal ribs in our R1 V5 ram air race kites.
Applying similar internal rib cut out shapes on the Fusion V2 Ultra-X have reduced weight while also increasing pressure between the two surfaces thanks to better air flow inside.
Combined with the new miniribs on the trailing edge, and more efficient air intake valves near the leading edge, the double surface profile is now even tighter and more solid.
All aspects of upwind performance and handling have improved as a result, so you can discover the ultimate in smooth handling, however rough the conditions may seem.
FURTHER UPGRADES
02 VARIABLE LEECH LINE TENSION ADJUSTMENT
Use the pigtail adjustment on each wingtip to fine-tune the leech (trailing edge) tension to suit various conditions and performance requirements.
Tighter leech:
Increases low-end power by creating more profile camber, making deeper downwind angles and riding through lulls easier to achieve. A tight leech slightly reduces top-end speed and overall stability.
Looser leech:
Maximises top-end speed and upwind performance at optimum trim. The wing becomes more stable in gusts, and slightly more sensitive in lulls. Riding at deep downwind angles with a loose leech requires a more advanced technique.

04 MORE MANOEUVRABILITY

05 HANDLES
We have tailored the handle position and length to the latest racer requirements. Depending on where you are on the race course and how powered you are, the longer front handle allows you to adjust front hand pressure. The handles also now feature contoured finger bumps for improved grip.

06 LIGHTER WEIGHT UPPER SURFACE CANOPY
A lighter weight upper surface canopy material further contributes to the overall reduction in weight.

Water ingress now drains from between the surfaces quicker.

IS IT EASY TO USE?
Yes – though it’s important to acknowledge that the Fusion V2 Ultra-X is a high performance product with technical design features. It needs a slight adjustment of pumping technique compared to a more traditional single skin wing.
Compared to the Fusion V1, the V2 Ultra-X model is lighter and the stiffer, reduced diameter leading edge makes it easier to manoeuvre and adapt through gusts.
